Gusev district is located in east part of the Kaliningrad region. It located on the river Pissa and the Krasnaja-river. Railway station in 115 km to the east from Kaliningrad. In the north the district borders on Krasnoznamensk district in the east - with area Nesterov district, in the south - with Ozersk district, in the West - with Chernjahovsk district, in northwest - with Neman district.
